FULTON, MS – The ICC softball program moved up two spots to No. 8 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball poll released Wednesday.
The Indians swept then No. 19 Northwest Mississippi Community College (13-7, 7-5 MACJC) and Pearl River Community College (17-12, 7-7 MACJC) to go 4-0 last week before sweeping Coahoma Community College (0-20, 0-12 MACJC) Tuesday to improve to 25-4 on the season and 10-2 in conference play.
The No. 8 ranking is the highest-ever for the Indians.
Four of MACJC programs make up this week's NJCAA Top 10 with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (25-3, 9-3 MACJC) holding strong at the No. 2 spot, East Central Community College (27-4, 11-3 MACJC) staying at No. 3 and Jones County Junior College (24-5, 13-1 MACJC) remaining at No. 5 while Region 23 foe LSU-Eunice (36-2) continues to hold the top spot in the country.
