Jordan, Cox, McCrary sign to play softball at ICC

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College head softball coach Andy Kirk announced Lexus Jordan, Emily Cox and Anna McCrary each signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Lady Indians next season.

Jordan, a utility player from Hamilton High School, batted .348 with a .420 on-base and .427 slugging percentages to help lead the Lady Lions to the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A North State semifinals last season.

"Jordan has been in a tremendous slow and fast pitch programs at Hamilton," said Kirk. "She has a lot playoff experience and will be able play a lot of positions for us. We are extremely to add a player like her to our roster next season."

Cox, a transfer from Alabama Southern, had a 3.51 earned run average (ERA) with 22 strike outs and a .943 fielding percentage while batting .238 as a pitcher with three doubles and one home run during her freshman season.

"Emily having that one year of college experience is going to be a great added value to our pitching staff," Kirk said. "She'll be able to come in right away and contribute while adding some more power at the plate."

McCrary, an outfielder from New Hope High School, batted .372 with a .402 on-base and .488 slugging percentages to help lead the Lady Trojans to the MHSAA Class 5A North State championship game in her final season in Columbus.

"She comes from a powerhouse program in New Hope," said Kirk. "Coach (Tabitha) Beard does an outstanding job preparing her players to be successful and we excited to have a player of her caliber joining our program. She will add some much needed depth to our outfield."
