Former ICC All-American earns All-Conference honors at BMC

Former Itawamba Community College standouts Kimmy Nicholson and Jake Sloan earned all-conference postseason honors on Wednesday.
Nicholson, an outfielder, was named first-team All Trans-South Conference after batting .284 during the regular season with two home runs, 19 RBI and a league-leading 23 stolen bases for the Blue Mountain Toppers.
She earned All-State, All-Region 23 and All-American honors while finishing in the nation's Top 5 with 48 stolen bases as a sophomore at ICC.
Sloan, a designated hitter, was named second team All-Gulf Coast South Conference as a member of the University of North Alabama Lions.
The Amory native is third on the team with a .371 batting average to go along with six home runs and 36 RBI this season. He was named first-team All-GSC in 2011 and was part of the Indians' 2009 state championship team while earning All-State honors in 2010.
