FULTON, MS – The ICC women's and men's tennis teams released their 2015 schedules on Friday, as announced by Coach Paul Johnson.
"We're looking forward to getting the seasons started," said Johnson. "We've got a good mix of returning players and incoming freshmen that should us be competitive on both the women's and men's side of things this season."
Fresh off their MACJC and NJCAA Region 23 championships, the Indians will be joined by the Lady Indians at Meridian Community College when they open the season will open the season against national powers Seminole State College (Feb 13) and Marion Military (Feb 14).
"We don't catch much of a break early, but hopefully that will help some of our freshmen see what it takes to be successful because there is a whole lot of talented players on this level," said Johnson.
ICC will host Region 23 contenders Meridian (Feb 23) and Jones County (Mar 2) in its first two home matches of the season separated by a road match against rival Northeast (Feb 24) while hosting Holmes (Mar 17) before Spring Break.
"You're going to have to battle for wins this season," said Johnson. "There are some teams that have been coming on strong over the past few years and looking to surprise some teams along the way this season."
Other home matches include: Northeast (Mar 20), Hinds (Mar 27), Copiah-Lincoln (Mar 28), East Central (Apr 6), and Northwest (Apr 13). Other road matches includes: East Central (Mar 17), Meridian (Mar 24), Holmes (Mar 30), Northwest (Apr 2), Jones County (Apr 10) and MS Gulf Coast (Apr 11).
ICC will host the 2015 MACJC Tournament in Tupelo (Apr 16-18).
