FULTON, MS – Coming off a 22-10 win over Southwest Mississippi Community College, the Itawamba Community College football team received a No. 20 ranking in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll released on Tuesday.
It's the first time since the 2007 season the Indians (2-0, 0-0 MACJC North) have been ranked by the NJCAA.
East Mississippi Community College (2-0, 0-0 MACJC North) maintained its top ranking with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (2-0, 0-0 MACJC South) at No. 4, Hinds Community College (2-0, 0-0 MACJC South) at No. 6 and Northwest Mississippi Community College (1-0, 0-0 MACJC North) coming in at No. 10 to round out the other Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) in this week's NJCAA poll.
The Indians also moved up to No. 19 in JC Gridiron poll with East Mississippi ranked No. 2, Hinds at No. 7, Mississippi Gulf Coast at No. 8 and Northwest moving up to No. 24 in this week's poll.
The Indians travel to Mississippi Delta Community College on Thursday to open MACJC North Division play with kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m.
