Indians prep for East Central despite possible postponement
“East Central is obviously a great opponent just like everyone else in this league,” said ICC head coach Jon Williams. “They present problems for teams defensively by giving you multiple looks. Traditionally they can be explosive with a very athletic quarterback leading the offense.”

FULTON, MS – Isaac has the opening of the 2012 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) football season in limbo as state and college officials play a game of wait-and-see with Mother Nature.
Right now, Itawamba Community College (0-0, 0-0 MACJC North) is set to travel to East Central Community College (0-0, 0-0 MACJC South) on Thursday, but could be postponed to Saturday.
"East Central is obviously a great opponent just like everyone else in this league," said ICC head coach Jon Williams. "They present problems for teams defensively by giving you multiple looks. Traditionally they can be explosive with a very athletic quarterback leading the offense."
The Indians named freshman Andrew Goodman (Mallard Creek HS, NC) as the starting quarterback and will have a host of new faces taking the field with three starters returning on offense and five on the defensive side of the ball.
"Our biggest concern is not having played anyone," said Williams "Our focus going into your first game is to keep the game as penalty free as possible, be well disciplined and execute on both sides of the ball."
Last season the Indians dropped 24-17 heartbreaker to the Warriors after picking up a 21-14 win during the 2010 season.
"Every week will be a challenge and this will be the first one," Williams said. "Hopefully when we go down to Decatur we can take care of business."
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in Decatur, but college officials scheduled to host games Thursday night have been advised by the MACJC to possibly delay games due to weather and safety concerns.
East Central officials except to announce their decision of the game's status by noon Wednesday.
The game will be broadcasted on WAFM 95.7 FM (Amory) and can be heard online at www.fm95radio.com 20 minutes before kickoff.
The Indians will host Southwest Mississippi Community College (0-0, 0-0 MACJC South) in their highly-anticipated home opener September 6 at 7:00 p.m.
